Cristina enjoying the hotsprings - Arizona Hot Springs - Black Canyon Nevada is a bit of a paradox. Home of the infamous Las Vegas, most of the states population resides in the Las Vegas or Reno areas. The rest of the state is very wild and rural. In fact, 67% of the land in the state is managed by the BLM.

This gives a lot of opportunities for adventure.

Season To Visit

Lower elevations, particularly those around Las Vegas, are brutally hot in summer. Combine heat with high rattlesnake danger, and late fall through early spring become the best times to visit.

Higher elevations and northern areas are more temperate and better spring through fall destinations.

Things to Do

The Black Canyon of the Colorado River, below Hoover dam makes for a very interesting introduction to the area. There are many hot springs in the Black Canyon, with Arizona Hot Springs being the most popular. While visiting, be sure to take the Hoover Dam tour, it is fascinating. There are, of course, many tourist attractions in the nearby Las Vegas proper. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so you'll have to find those adventures on their own.
