Did this just after Lost & Found. Top anchor was 1/2 cairn 1/2 little tree. The webbing on the little tree was in pretty bad shape so we replaced it. 1st rap got jacked up. We saw some of the suggestion saying you could rappel over the boulders below the steep par, so we did that, but the top got stuck and we had to climb back up under the boulders (the thing we were supposed to avoid doing by rappelling over them) to get the rope down from the 2nd stage rappel station. Bad beta. Due to some rope management issues and the rope getting stuck, we lost about an hour screwing around here. The rest of the canyone was fun, but for someone out of shape like me, doing both Lost and Found and MMI was a bit too much. The 2nd hike across the desert to get back to the car was miserable with my heavy pack. Climbers exit wasn’t all that sketchy. Wasn’t an issue for Dad and me.

MMI was an interesting canyon. I ended up replacing a lot of the webbing found in this canyon. The first rappel could be done as a down climb, although there are extreme penalty points, so a backup is recommended. At the boulder, the lamar pulled the cord and rapped off the newly replaced anchor here. the 2nd or 3rd anchor (the small one about 15 ft in length) can also be bested by a partner capture and some down climbing skills. The mess we found at the last rappel was classic adding webbing beyond anything serviceable. We completely tore down the mess and rebuild it, making it a courtesy anchor and extending it to the edge. The last rappel is the best, 100 ft and a beautiful view.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I was quite disappointed with MMI. After having done (and loved) Granary and Morning Glory Arch (both rated 4 stars), I was excited to try MMI (rated here as 3.67). The cost to benefit ratio simply wasn't there. ~3 hour round trip from Moab, plus the time to set up a shuttle. First rap was a nuisance, the second was really an assisted downclimb, third rap was fine but not particularly special. The short, "climber's" exit is a misnomer, since it implies the ability to set up protection, e.g. provide belay support for one another. "Spiderman" exit would be more accurate. You're zig-zagging across a sheer, steep sandstone face. Absolutely dry conditions with sticky shoes are imperative. The views inside the canyon are nice but nothing especially unique. I hear Lost & Found is better.

Fun canyon, great rappels. Went with group of 9. Climber's exit was exposed but super easy.

W LH. 1st rap is now broken into 3. Nothing longer than 100 ft. Last rap is now the longest at almost exactly 30 meters (100 ft) if you break up the first. Doing this limits risk of ropes getting stuck, the risk would be extremely high if done as one long rappel due to many boulders and chockstones.

Great. Road mostly 2WD accessible, though we did get stuck in the mud at one point.

With Alex. Good canyon, even if it's a bit short.
