LENGTH: 7-9 hours. About 9.5 miles with +/- 2000 ft. of elevation

FLASHFLOOD: None
SEASON: Late Spring through Fall.

Hype

Hammond Canyon is a delightful tapestry of pinnacles, lush green foliage, water falls, and the well preserved Three Finger Indian ruin. The contrast between the green of the foliage, the whites and reds of the sandstone, and the blue of the sky make for a photographers paradise. Although a strenuous day hike, this would be a pleasant and easy overnight backpack. If backpacking, be sure to practice low impact camping techniques.

This trail has some unbelievable colours in the fall-highly worth returning to around end of Sept.
