( 0 Votes )
RATING: 3B
LENGTH: 4-6 Hours
GEAR: Standard Technical Gear, Wetsuit in all but the hottest weather, pothole escape gear.
RAPPELS: 2 to 15 m ( 50 ft ).
WATER: Often quite a bit.
FLASH FLOOD DANGER: Moderate, but you can see the whole drainage and skies on the approach.
SEASON: Late spring through early fall

Hype:

Upper Three is a great little canyon, in a easy to access, yet remote feeling part of the Swell. It's short nature make it a good beginner canyon. Although it does have keeper potholes, beginners with team work should be able to overcome them. The views where the canyon drops behind the reef are second to none.

My History:

I went through in early July of 2008. We found only a few pools, and many wild Burro tracks in between rappels where they had found ways in looking for water.
