Arscenic is a great, short canyon on the south side of Poison Spring. A three stage rap at the start leads you into a canyon with a few downclimbs, and one particularly spectacular corkscrew section.

Stemming in ArscenicArscenicArscenic Downclimb Mark and Kent

My History:

On 1/17/2004, myself (Ryan Cornia), Mark McCray, and Kent Beverly descended the canyon. We had no beta, so fixed the first 3 stage rappel (the method described above). Right after the rappel, we found a single piton protecting a short downclimb. This has since been removed. At the time, we named the canyon Lymric, after a Lymric Kent wrote before the trip.

Shortly after our descent, another group descended the canyon, and the beta became available on climb-utah.com under the name Arscenic.

Since that time, I have been through the canyon several times.

If the person(s) that descended the canyon before 1/17/2004 reads this, drop me an e-mail. I would like to know more details about when it was first done.
