Capitol Reef is a diverse destination. Many short park trails and scenic drives make for great family fun, while some technical canyoneering adventures keep the more adventurous entertained. Wikipedia has a very good overview and other information on the area.

When?

Anytime, although summers are too hot for my taste. Due to it's relatively high elevation, winters can be cold.

Where?

West of Torrey, Utah on highway 24. You can go to the National Park Service site for full details.

What?

Classics include Burro, Cottonwood, and 5-mile, along with my beloved Pandora's. (Beta Below) Burro, Cottonwood, and 5-Mile require either some route finding, or a long car shuttle. Some short canyon adventures are also now being done. Note: Permits are NOT required for technical canyoneering in the park.
