PDF Write-Ups

Warning: Conditions in the outdoors can, and frequently do change. Like life, danger may lurk around any corner. This information is provided free of any warranty or liability. Be careful, be prepared, and use good judgment.

In an effort to improve the site, some write-ups are now available as a download-able PDF. Some are free, some are available for a small fee, or you can become a yearly subscriber.

Introducing subscriptions

Many have suggested adding a subscription option, so that you can access all content without the nuisance of individual purchases.

Your suggestions have been answered, introducing the Average Joe Road Trips subscription! $20 a year gets full access to all content on the site. As usual, this is the most complete information on canyons, hikes, and other adventures available. All routes were written in a consistent style, were done by the author, and are easy to use and follow. No vague, incomplete, or inconsistent second hand descriptions here.

For those that dislike commitment, the option to buy only the write-ups you are interested in will, of course, still be available.

To purchase, simply click on the buy now button and submit your information in PayPal.

What do you get for your money?

A PDF file with all of the information on the canyon, climb, hike, etc... that I have available. The PDF includes detailed instructions on getting to the trail head, as well as the route information itself. A map is included (if needed), along with pertinent GPS coordinates. Simply print it, and your ready to go. An example is available here: Medieval Chamber - Moab

Why the change?

As the site has grown, it has required more time and effort to keep maintained. All routes described here have been personally done by myself, so you always get consistent, high quality information. Routes are never collected via second hand information. This requires time, effort, and expense. A small fee is the easiest way to insure the site continues to grow and expand.

This is cheaper than a guidebook or most other websites with paid memberships, and allows you to pay for only those write-ups that you find useful. An overview, with information about the route and pictures, will always be available for free so you can determine if a particular outing is something your interested in.

Why PDF?

Unlike other digital information, a route description is only good if it can be printed and taken with you. PDF is the best format for insuring a quality printout.

How does it work?

Simply login, click the purchase button, and you will be redirected to PayPal. Once you have purchased the write-up, it will show up on your profile page when loggein in. Click the link under your profile page to download the pdf.
