Michael R. Kelsey Guidebooks

Kelsey guidebooks have been the longest lasting guidebooks about the Colorado Plateau. Written in a distinct style, they blend history with hiking and technical canyoneering information. Each book covers either on area in depth, or the best of multiple areas. All his books are highly recommended. Below is a small listing of the few I use most.

Steve Allen Guidebooks

Allen's books are very detailed and easy to follow. Highly recommended if you are just getting started with hiking and exploring the desert. Unfortunately the information is becoming a bit dated.

Tom Jones Guidebooks

This is the definitive reference to Zion canyoneering. It is thorough and well written. Highly recommended if canyoneering in Zion.
