Eastern Idaho has a plethora of good canoe trips, and raft trips. Climbing is also big here, with City of Rocks, Castle Rocks, and Massacre Rocks being a few places that will keep an avid climber busy for some time.

For family climbing fun, stop in Pocatello. There are two parks there, the sunny side, and the shady side, that offer dozens of short climbs, almost all of which can be easily top roped. The shady side is off of 5th Avenue, near the I15 exit on the south side of town. The sunny side is near Ross Park.
